it only getsinconvenient if you wanna get high alone

The Angels looked terrible today. To be honest, they've looked terrible the last five or six games, but especially terrible today. Clay Bucholtz was beatable, and the Angels didn't capitalize. Sure they scored eight runs, but four came after the Boston Red Sox opened a 17-4 lead on the Halos. Joe Saunders gave up seven runs in just four innings, failing to record an out in the fifth. Both Matt Palmer and Brian Stokes continued to be ineffective and could not stop the bleeding. The Angels better right the ship, and quickly. Personally, I think it might be time to call up Trevor Reckling and send Saunders to AAA or the bullpen. He's clearly off. Luckily for the Angels, they're in the AL West, where everyone else is mediocre as well.

I've got the Suns/Spurs game on. I think it's time to look back at my first round predictions. (Predictions can be found at http://mattycantfail.livejournal.com/51750.html)

Eastern Conference:

(1) Cleveland Cavilers vs. (8) Chicago Bulls. (Four games) (Actual: Cleveland over Chicago, 5 games)
No surprise here. Chicago stole one at home. It happens.

(4) Boston Celtics vs. (5) Miami Heat. (six games) (Actual: Boston over Miami, 5 games) D-Wade wasn't enough, and the C's showed up to play. They can beat Cleveland. Write it down.

(3) Atlanta Hawks vs. (6) Milwaukee Bucks. (six games) (Actual: Atlanta over Milwaukee, 7 games) Atlanta let their foot off the gas, and had to come back to win. They won't stand a chance vs. Orlando.

(2) Orlando Magic vs. (7) Charlotte Bobcats. (four games) (Actual: Orlando over Charlotte, 4 games) Even with Dwight Howard in foul trouble the entire series, Jameer Nelson and company took care of business. Perfection on my part.

Western Conference:

(1) Los Angeles Lakers vs. (8) Oklahoma City Thunder Zombie Sonics (six games) (Acutal: LA over OKC, six games) I said that The Zombie Sonics would give LA fits, and they did. They could have won this series, actually.

(4) Denver Nuggets vs. (5) Utah Jazz  (seven games) (Actual: Utah over Denver, six games) George Karl's absence was the difference maker. Utah stands no chance vs. LA

(3) Phoenix Suns vs. (6) Portland Trailblazers. (five games) (Actual: Phoenix over Portland, six games) Wasn't expecting Roy to come back. Phoenix still took care of business.

(2) Dallas Mavericks vs. (7) San Antonio Spurs. (six games). (Actual: San Antonio over Dallas, five games) Dallas couldn't even hang six games. They suck. My bad, SA.

Overall: 6-2. (two series picked perfect)

With Dallas out, I'm sitting on top in my bet right now. Chris took Dallas over Phoenix in the second round, while I had Phoenix over Dallas. He also took Denver over Utah. I'm feelin' pretty good, to be honest.

Anyways, that's all for now. peace.
